Continuing Education Activity Approval Procedure December 11, 2002 To All RI Registered Professional Land Surveyors RE: Continuing Education Requirements Dear Gentlemen/Madams: As you are all aware, commencing on July 1, 2003, and each Biennium thereafter, a Registrant seeking renewal of active registration must, as a prerequisite to renewal, submit (PDH's) during the Biennium immediately preceding application for renewal. satisfactory evidence to the Board of having obtained Twenty (20) Professional Development Hours Solely for purposes of the registration renewal period commencing on July 1, 2003, the Board will also accept approved continuing education activities complying with the provisions of these CEU Regulations which were earned during the period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001. The Rhode Island State Board of Registration for Professional Land Surveyors Education Advisory Committee has been formed and consists of one member of the State Board of Registration for Professional Land Surveyors, a RISPLS member, two registered Professional Land Surveyors at large and one person from an educational institution. The Board will set the Policy and Guidelines for this committee. The procedure for seeking eligibility and approval for an activity is as follows. You must put a letter, in writing, to the Board requesting review of the activity(ies) along with a syllabus for each activity attached. Please be advised that a response will not be available immediately to you. The Advisory Committee is a part-time, volunteer committee.
